Enhancing Posyandu Effectiveness with Digital Product Innovation

Challenge
Indonesia is among the top five countries globally with the highest number of stunting cases, which are often exacerbated by inefficient manual processes in Posyandu (community health posts). The existing procedures, from data recording to report submission, were prone to human error, time-consuming, and difficult to manage, especially during the pandemic where maintaining social distancing became crucial.

Solution
We partnered with Saga, a medical manufacturer, to digitize the Posyandu process through a mobile app and digital body weight scale. This solution allowed healthcare workers to record patient data digitally, ensuring accuracy and enabling instant reporting for both parents and the Ministry of Health. The integration of Bluetooth-enabled scales also allowed for social distancing during weight measurements, addressing both efficiency and safety concerns.

Outcome
The implementation of the Saga Sehat system revolutionized the stunting prevention efforts in Indonesia by reducing data errors, speeding up the reporting process, and providing timely, accurate health information. This digital transformation has significantly contributed to the government’s goal of improving child health outcomes across the country.
